Loral School Floors Govt College, Others In Quiz Competition
Loral International Boarding Secondary School, Igbesa, has won the Inter-secondary School Quiz Competition held recently at the Corona College, Agbara.
The quiz was organized as part of the activities for the annual “Business Summit” put together by the Business Students of Corona Secondary School, Agbara.
Loral International School, represented by the duo of Odinaka Ofoegbu and Zainab Adejumobi proved her superiority by answering all their questions in the two-round quiz involving Economics and Business studies. They defeated their counterparts from Federal Government College, Ijanikin, The Bells Secondary School, Ota, among others to win the coveted prize.
The Media Officer of Loral team, Mr Kufreh Effiong, who prepared and took the students to the Summit described the feat achieved by his students as a testimony of Loral’s academic excellence. “Loral College is a school to beat in terms of qualitative education. The performance of our children shows that they have something upstairs and that they were well prepared because, they answered beyond the expectations of everybody at the event.
While commending the students for not only doing themselves and the School proud but that of their families and their country, he urged them not to distracted by their performance at the quiz competition but to continue in their quest for academic excellence. According to him, this is the only way they could achieved their set objectives in life.
Also speaking, the Vice Principal of Corona College, Agbara, Mr Adeshina Okunobi disclosed that the annual Corona Business Summit was initiated to impart on students how to be business conscious. “The annual Corona School Business Summit is all about teaching students ethics of business and the innovative ways of doing business in any part of the world and at any time. Our aim is to make them good entrepreneurs.”
Meanwhile, the theme of this year’s summit was “ Democracy and the Nigerian Economy”. Sub themes were “Democracy and Teenagers in Nigeria”, “Democracy and Nigerian Educational System”, “Free and fair elections as a panacea for Nigeria’s Economic Development”, among others. Participating students were lectured on good citizenship, advantages of democracy over military rule and how democracy has stabilized the Nigeria’s economy, among others.
Highlights of the event included presentations on PowerPoint from students of the various invited schools. Amaka Emili represented Loral on PowerPoint presentation while David Onyeneke participated on Computer Operations.
