Ambrose Alli University Holds First Convocation In 7 Years

The Edo Government-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma has completed arrangements to hold its first convocation in seven years on June 16.

The last time the university held a convocation for its graduating students was in 2005.

The institution’s spokesman, Mr Chris Adamaigbo, told NSB on Wednesday in Ekpoma in Edo that the convocation would cover five sessions from 2006/2007 to 2010/2011.

According to him, the 18th convocation ceremony of the university will officially kick-off with the convocation lecture on June 14.

The convocation lecture, entitled: “The Impact of Malnutrition on National Development,” will be delivered by Prof. Taiwo Ebuehi of the Department of Medical Bio-Chemistry, College of Medicine, University of Lagos.

He said that the award of Diplomas/Degrees and prizes would hold on June 15.

According to him, the installation of the Visitor, Chancellor and Pro-chancellor, as well as the conferment of higher and honorary degrees will take place on June 16.

The spokesman said that a Juma’at prayers and inter-denominational service had earlier been held on June 8 and June 10, respectively to commit the ceremony onto God’s hands.
